RX 9050 4GB Is Over 25% Slower Than the 8GB Card
AMD's 4GB RX 9050 is more than 25% slower than the 8GB version across a range of games at 1080p Medium/High, according to benchmarks from Hardware Unboxed and Toasty Bros. In many titles it barely holds 60fps at 1080p Low.
The card revives a 4GB memory configuration that was already tight for modern games. Texture-heavy scenes and newer releases are the worst cases, where the limited VRAM forces lower settings or causes stutter.
The takeaway is simple: unless the price gap is enormous, the 8GB model is the one to buy. For a budget build, a used card or a slightly older 8GB GPU is likely a better use of money than a new 4GB card that is already limited at 1080p.
